ABOUT

Hi, thanks for stopping by! My name is Milo Krims and I live work and play in Spokane, Wa. where my passion for the preservation of wonderful things has continued to bloom. Whether that preservation be the noticing and honoring with memory something that grabs my minds eye or the physical exploration and re working of an object till it is ready to live another life. I am self taught in many things, photography, music, writing, camera repair, film processing, darkroom work, fiber art, but when the drive to push forward and learn typewriter repair became so strong and I knew my knowledge was limited I had to look elsewhere for a helping hand, somewhere beyond the internet also known as 'the human connection'. After about 1 year of learning bits and pieces online, looking through the 2 manuals that sit on a table in my office, disassembling and trying to develop systems to correct the damage brought on by time and human/animal interaction with the few machines I had I was granted passage and made my way to Bremerton, Wa. where I would go on to apprentice with Paul, Lisa and Griffin at Bremerton Office Machine Co. for three months to listen, learn, push and hone some of the necessary typewriter mechanic skills needed to begin this new way (to me) of preserving these very important and special machines. I have learned and will continue to learn as much as possible to do the best work I can for the people who have also developed relationships with their typewriters and the machines themselves. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or to set up a time to bring your machine(s) by and we can go over them together and see what work would need to be done to bring them back up to snuff.
